Jewish Leaders in Poland Awarded High Orders by Polish Government

A second list of awards announced by the Polish State Council the 21st anniversary of the uprising against the Nazis includes the names of several leaders of the Jewish Cultural and Social Association. The second list covers awards to leaders of minority groups in Poland.

The order of Officer of Polonia Restituta was awarded to Edward Reiber, secretary of the Central Committee of the association, and to Israel Felhendler, director of the association’s educational department. The order of Chevalier of Polonia Restituta was a warded to Michael Wilner, Gita Bransteter-Stulberg, Rose Bauminger and Yadwica Fuchsman. The Golden Cross of Merit was awarded to Samuel Brasman and Joseph Buchbinder.
