Workers conducting a deliberate slowdown at a big military workshop were locked out of the plant today after they rejected a demand from the military commander for an apology.
The workers launched the “go-slow” action last Sunday when it became clear that their demands for more pay had been rejected. When they reported for work today, they found they were barred from entry. A Defense Ministry spokesman said the decision to lock them out had been taken by the commander.
The workers indicated this morning they would resume normal work schedules and drop their demands. The commander asked for the apology in addition and the workers refused.
