Dr. Thaddeus J. Lubera, associate superintendent in charge of instruction for the Chicago Board of Education, urged the Jewish community here today to encourage the enrollment of their children in the Hebrew classes of Chicago’s public high schools.
Noting that Hebrew classes are formed in Chicago high schools when sufficient enrollment and accredited teachers can be secured, Dr. Lubera called on organizations, synagogues and parents to encourage Jewish youngsters to sign up for courses already offered in four high schools, and expressed the hope that the language would soon be offered in additional schools, and “I shall do everything in my power to help boost the Hebrew language and secure teachers and the necessary materials,” he declared.
