Eshkol Sends Personal Representative to the Ceremony

Prime Minister Levi Eshkol today assigned Arthur Lourie, former Ambassador to London and now deputy director-general of the Israel Foreign Ministry, as his personal representative to the ceremonies at Independence, Missouri, where ex-President Harry S. Truman will be informed of the establishment of the Truman Peace Center at the Hebrew University here. Mr. Lourie left by plane for Independence today to attend the ceremonies tomorrow.

The Government announced that Ambassador Avraham Harman, Israel’s envoy to Washington, will represent President Zalman Shazar at the ceremonies. Simultaneously with the event in Independence, a special ceremony will be held here to mark the event. Scheduled to participate in the ceremony here are President Shazar; Foreign Minister Abba Eban; Nathan Rothenstein, rector of the Hebrew University; and Walworth Barbour, United States Ambassador to Israel.
