Charles Bassine Named Board Chairman of Einstein College Hospital

Charles C. Bassine, Jewish communal leader, who has contributed millions of dollars to the advancement of health, education and medical research, has been named chairman of the board of The Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University.

The new hospital, a 12-story general hospital, with a capacity of 375 beds, opened earlier this month. Mr. Bassine is a founder of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is a trustee of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies, a trustee and vice-president of Long Island Jewish Hospital and a trustee and member of the beard of directors of the United Jewish Appeal. He also is a Fellow at Brandeis University and a board member of the Brooklyn Home and Hospital for the Aged.
