The threat of a crippling transit stoppage in Tel Aviv apparently was averted today by a Transport Fare Authority decision to recommend substantial increases in fares for the three bus lines serving the city. The recommendations called for an increase of 14 percent in fares for the Dan line and ten percent for the Egged and Hamekasher lines. The bus lines responded by withdrawing threats to cancel service on their routes.
