Dr. Louis L. Mann, a leading Reform rabbi and scholar and a founder of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, died in the hospital here yesterday at the age of 76.
He retired as rabbi of Chicago’s Sinai Temple in 1962 after 39 years in its pulpit but continued as a lecturer in the University of Chicago oriental languages department. He was also a founder of the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundations and of the Planned Parenthood Association. He had been a member of the executive boards of the Central Conference of American Rabbis and the Union of American Hebrew Congregations.
