The Hebrew University today dedicated its “Founders Wall,” forming part of the facade of the administration building. Names of contributors who gave $25,000 or more for the university campus were inscribed on the wall. Nathaniel Goldstein, of New York, president of the American Friends of the Hebrew University, told the gathering that the wall would serve to “unite men instead of separating” them.
Also dedicated by the university here today was a chair in American history in the name of the late James G. McDonald, the first American Ambassador to Israel. Mr. McDonald’s widow was present at the ceremonies, along with the present United States Ambassador, Walworth Barbour.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
