New York police authorities on Staten Island, one of the city’s boroughs, were still searching today for vandals who desecrated the Baron de Hirsch Cemetery in that area early this month, it was reported Wednesday.
The superintendent of the cemetery, Ronald Gresser, today notified relatives of deceased interred in the burial grounds that 240 tombstones had been overturned in the cemetery.
