Israel’s 18th anniversary of independence was celebrated here and in a number of other Argentine cities with mass rallies, dinners and receptions attended by senior Government officials, leaders of the Argentine Jewish community and members of the diplomatic corps.
Among the guests at a major reception given by the Israel Embassy here were Argentine Defense Minister Leopoldo Suarez; Finance Minister Carlos Garcia Tudero; Commerce Minister Bernardo Grinspun; Governor Anselmo Marini of the Province of Buenos Aires; Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Jose Noguerol Armengol; Msgr, Umberto Mozzoni, the Papal Nuncio; Msgr. Ernesto Segura, secretary of the Argentine Episcopate. United States Ambassador Edwin Martin; and outstanding figures in the literary, cultural and scientific worlds.
