The formal establishment of a Canadian Society for the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, was announced here today by Henry Benson, chairman of the Provisional committee of the Society, who said that the group had been granted a Federal charter and tax deduction status.

Stephen S. Barber, who was appointed executive director of the local group, said that one of the first objectives of the Society will be the formation of a scientific advisory council of Canada.
