Joint Committee Formed to Perpetuate Sharett’s Name in Israel

A joint committee was established here today by the Government of Israel and the Jewish Agency to find ways of perpetuating the name of the late Moshe Sharett, who died July 7, 1965. Mr. Sharett was, at his death, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive. Previously, he had been Israel’s Foreign Minister and, for a time, Prime Minister.

Representing the Government on the committee are Foreign Minister Abba Eban, Education Minister Zalman Aranne, Minister Without Portfolio Israel Galili, Minister of Finance Pinhas Sapir, Minister of the Interior Moshe Shapiro and Minister of Posts Eliahu Sasson. The Agency members are Aryeh L. Pincus, chairman of the Agency executive; and the following Agency executive members: Y. Artzi, Dr. Israel Goldstein, H. Levanon, Zvi Lurie and Joseph Klarman.
