B’nai B’rith announced today that the organization’s first lodge on the subcontinent of India has been chartered in Bombay. This expands the number of countries where B’nai B’rith affiliates exist to 45.
Hans Spitz, of Melbourne, Australia, international vice-president of B’nai B’rith and the president of its Australia-New Zealand district, installed the new unit in Bombay. Its 32 charter members include Americans, Britons, Israelis, Germans and native Indians.
