Morris B. Abram, president of the American Jewish Committee, accepted today an honorary membership in Zeta Beta Tau, a Greek letter fraternity. “because its doors are open to people of all backgrounds.”

He was presented with the fraternity’s Gottheil Medal, and was initiated at the same time into the fraternity. The medal is presented to persons whose activities best promote better human understanding in relationships among all peoples. Established in 1898, it was the first Greek letter society open to Jewish undergraduates. Later it became non-sectarian and interracial.
