A kosher dining hall has been established at Johns Hopkins University, the first such facility in the history of the 90-year-old institution whose enrollment includes nearly 500 Jewish students. The kosher dining hall was set up by the Council of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of Baltimore.
The university has made available a centrally located area in the main dormitory dining hall. The Orthodox Council has undertaken to equip the kitchen with the aid of the Baltimore Jewish community. Jaye Neuman is president of the Council, and Albert Winer and Herman Cohn head its campus committee. Rabbi Samuel Rosenblatt serves as advisor for the project.
