American Federation of Jews from Central Europe Marks Anniversary

Download PDF for this date

The American Federation of Jews from Central Europe celebrated its 25th anniversary here today at a gathering addressed by Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Jewish Congress, and Dr. Joachim Prinz, chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.

Comprising some 40 affiliated organizations of immigrants from Central Europe, the Federation has represented the rights and interests of survivors of the Nazi holocaust coming from Central Europe. Under the Federation’s sponsorship, a network of mutual aid societies and social welfare agencies was organized and, in close cooperation with the general community, set on a path of integration into the social, cultural and economic life in this country.
