JERUSALEM (Nov. 3)
Lt. Gen. Odd Bull, chief of staff of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization, discussed today the renewal of guerrilla incursions near the Syrian border with Moshe Sasson, director of the armistice affairs division of the Israel Foreign Ministry.
It was believed that Mr. Sasson expressed sharp criticism to Gen. Bull of the failure of the Israeli-Jordanian Mixed Armistice Commission to find Jordan responsible for some of the recent incidents. The Israeli official also reportedly reiterated Israel’s proposal for an expansion of UNTSO activities in the direction of more active measures to prevent clashes with infiltrators.
Informed sources here said today that saboteurs who were trained in Algeria were among the El Fatah guerrillas infiltrating into Israel. They said the saboteurs were sent to North Africa a year ago for training in guerrilla warfare and sabotage and that the saboteurs returned to Syria a few months ago and were now concentrated in bases near Damascus.
