Prime Minister Levi Eshkol indicated today he will meet soon with Israeli industrialists on their demand for a wage freeze, stemming from a demand for a 5 percent wage boost for all factory workers, starting next January 1.

The increase was demanded by the Histadrut, Israel’s labor federation. The industrialists have contended that it is impossible for them to grant the increase because of Israel’s current economic slowdown.
