The ‘Palestine Question’ was the biggest order of business in 1966 for the United Nations Security Council, according to a U.N. statistical roundup of activities during the year.
Twenty-eight of the Security Council’s 70 meetings in 1966 were devoted to “the Palestine Question,” the U.N. reported. This compared to 18 meetings on Southern Rhodesia, the second largest consumer of Security Council time. The U.N. defined the “Palestine Question” as “complaints by Syria, Israel and Jordan regarding border incidents.”
