Israel Buys Cruise Ship ‘nili’ for $4,200,000 at Auction in Miami

The Israeli cruise ship Nili, which was impounded here last year when its owners, Nili-Somerfin Car Ferries, Ltd., of Haifa, failed to meet mortgage payments, was sold to the Israel Government at auction here yesterday for $4,200,000. The Israel Government, which purchased the vessel to protect its own position as a creditor of Somerfin, intends to resell it.
