JERUSALEM (Feb. 27)
Five South Vietnamese youths are expected here shortly for a training course in irrigation methods and stock-breeding techniques within the framework of technical cooperation between the two countries, it was reported here today. Israel’s decision to accept the group was taken at the Government level following a request from Saigon, it was learned.
The Israel Cabinet, however, has decided not to enter into any negotiations with South Vietnam concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. It is believed, however, that Foreign Minister Abba Eban will discuss the possibility during contacts with other Asian leaders during Mr. Eban’s forthcoming trip to Southeast Asia. He is due to leave on that trip this week.
