Congregation Emunat Israel, an Orthodox synagogue in mid-Manhattan has been vandalized for the third time in a month, its rabbi, Meyer H. Leifer, reported today.

He said papers and books were found scattered in the synagogue and that $500 was taken from a safe which had been smashed open. In two previous attempts, burglars had failed to open the safe, the rabbi said.
