A violent attack against the Jewish religion, published in a Church of England parish magazine, drew sharp protests here today from Jews and non-Jews alike.

The attack was made by the Rev. George Nicholson, who had headed his magazine article “Synagogue of Satan.” He wrote: “They (the Jews) have a messianic mission to establish by their stranglehold on world finance a Jewish–controlled government in Jerusalem on the strength of spurious interpretation of prophecy. Jewish ascendancy in America enables anti-Christ to subvert Supreme Court rulings and prevent religious instruction in the schools.”

A copy of the magazine was received in the mail by Donald Black, a Jewish research scientist, who complained to the Board of Deputies of British Jews. The Young Liberal Federation of Southeast England protested against the article, and asked the Bishop of Oxford to dismiss Rev. Nicholson. The latter has denied he is anti-Semitic, stating that he had only drawn his attitude from the Bible. “I am not a racialist,” he said.
