Italian Jewish Federation Bids Communities Aid Sicilian Earthquake Victims

The Union of Jewish Communities here appealed today to all Italian-Jewish institutions to fully participate in the rescue work for the Sicilian population hit by the earthquake. Even before the appeal was made, the Turin Jewish community had contributed 250,000 lire ($16,000). The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee previously announced a contribution of one million lire.
