Leaders of British Jewry were urged today to participate in all activities connected with Human Rights Year, proclaimed by the United Nations in order, among other things. to focus attention on the plight of Jews in the Soviet Union. The call was issued by Sir. Barnett Janner. M.P. chairman of the foreign affairs committee of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, at the Board’s monthly meeting here. Mr. Janner stressed that much of the work being done on behalf of Russian Jewry “cannot be discussed in open session.”
