Friends of Lubavitch to Hold Exhibition of Chassidic Art in Philadelphia

An exhibition of the works of Chassidic artists, sponsored by the Philadelphia Friends of Lubavitch, is scheduled to open at the Lubavitcher Center here on Feb. 4 it was announced by the group today. The exhibit will include works by Chenoch Lieberman and Zalman Kleiman of the United States and religious artists from Israel and other countries. The opening ceremonies will be attended by the sculptor Jacques Lipchitz who has created an original lithograph for the art show.

According to Joseph N. Gorson, chairman of the event, the purpose of the exhibit is to “expose and introduce the Jewish community to the philosophy of the Lubavitch movement expressed through the artwork of its devoted followers.”
