Jewish Nuclear Physicist Elected to Brazilian Academy of Science

Dr. Ernst W. Hamburger, German-born Jewish nuclear physicist, was among five scientists elected here to the Brazilian Academy of Science. Dr. Hamburger, a visiting associate professor of the University of Pittsburgh, where he received his doctorate in physics, also studied at Sao Paulo University. He holds a chair in theoretical physics at Sao Paulo University and is an assistant research fellow in the physics department of the University of Pittsburgh.
