More than half of 370 seniors at the four Yeshiva University High Schools eligible to compete for the New York State Regents College Scholarships have been named as winners or alternates, it was announced today. There were 150 winners–108 boys and 42 girls–and 62 alternates at the four schools.
The State awarded a total of 18,843 scholarships to the 167,000 high school seniors who participated in the competition. Scholarship winners are entitled to an annual award of $250 to $1,000, depending upon financial need, for each of four years of study at a Regents-approved college in the State of New York.
