Israel Accepts K. H. Knocke As New German Ambassador, Succeeding Dr. Rolf Pauls

Karl Hermann Knocke will be West Germany’s new Ambassador to Israel, succeeding Dr. Rolf Pauls. The Israeli Government has conveyed its acceptance of Mr. Knocke to the West German Foreign Office. He will take up his new post in August. Mr. Knocke is at present Ambassador to The Netherlands. He was an officer in the German Army during the Second World War, but informed sources said, was never a Nazi Party member.
