The Board of Rabbis of Northern California has endorsed the efforts of trade unions to bring workers in the trable grape vineyards under the protection of the National Labor Relations Act. In a New Year message to congregants, it called for a boycott of California table grapes “until such time as the fair and decent wage scales and working conditions which most Americans enjoy be recognized by the growers of table grapes.”
