The National Conference of Christians and Jews said today that it had expressed concern in telegrams to the three major Presidential candidates that some candidates for office are making “blatant and subtle appeals to racial and religious prejudice” in their campaigns. Dr. Sterling W. Brown, president, called on all candidates from the local to the Presidential level to “make a pledge of no appeal” to bias.
