Two former Nazis charged with shooting to death thousands of Jews in Russia during World War II were on trial today in Mainz for the second time. The first trial of Leopold Windisch, 65, and Rudolf Werner, 61, a government official, was ended on a technicality. The two are accused of taking part in the shooting of 12,800 persons between the autumn, 1941, and summer, 1942. Most of the victims were Jews, many were Gypsies.
