United Nations peace envoy Ambassador Gunnar V. Jarring was expected here tomorrow or Tuesday to receive Israel’s replies to his questionnaire on peace aims which he submitted to Israel and the Arab governments. It was reliably learned that Israel’s replies, while conciliatory in tone, insist that frontiers and similar problems can be discussed only with the Arabs directly. Dr. Jarring will meet with Foreign Minister Abba Eban and was expected to pay a courtesy call on Israel’s new Prime Minister, Mrs. Golda Meir.
