Brazil’s oldest Yiddish newspaper, the weekly Yiddish Presse, marked its 40th anniversary with the publication of a special 24-page edition. The paper was founded in 1929 as a daily but was made a weekly after World War II. Its editor for the past 18 years has been David Markus, the JTA correspondent here.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
