A B’nai B’rith leader warned here that the increasing involvement of the most gifted young Jews in most contemporary causes except those associated with the Jewish community threatens American Jewry with “paralysis” and “mediocre leadership” in the future. Jack J. Spitzer, international chairman of the B’nai B’rith Youth Commission, called for “immediate efforts to intensify Jewish learning and living experiences for teen-agers” as the “precondition for the creation of a pool of future Jewish leaders.” He spoke at a testimonial dinner in his honor given by the Greater Los Angeles B’nai B’rith.
