Dr. George Lowen, 72, who fled Germany in 1935 after a brilliant legal career, and who became a leading barrister In South Africa, died here recently. In Germany, he appeared against Nazi Party members and was preparing the defense of those charged with setting the Reichstag fire of 1933, when on advice of friends, he fled.
