The Jewish Children’s Home Service of New Orleans plans to make a study of the effects of drug use by Jewish teenagers in the seven-state southern area it services, Carol B. Hart, president announced today. The agency operates in cooperation with local Jewish agencies in its service area. He said the first step would be collection of information from the local Jewish organizations on the effects on family relationships of the use and experimentation with drugs by teenage family members. He said it was hoped that the information would provide clues for casework treatment of affected Jewish families. The study also will seek to determine the extent to which the drug problem is being brought to the attention of the Jewish casework agencies, he said.
