A group of prominent Britishers have called a conference for Sept. 24 to consider the “menace” of the extreme right-wing National Democratic Party (NPD) in West Germany and possible ways to call attention to it. The conference will be addressed by West German leaders. Invitations were issued over the signature of Humphrey Berkeley, a Conservative politician who is chairman of the United Nations Association, and a group of scholars, clergymen, trade unionists and professionals. The NPD is making its first bid for seats in the Bundestag in the Sept. 28 national election.
