Herb Grey Named by Trudeau As First Jew to Become Federal Cabinet Minister

The first Jew to become a Cabinet Minister in the Federal Government, Herb Grey, was appointed yesterday by Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau. Mr. Grey represented a Windsor area in the House of Commons. Before his appointment as Minister Without Portfolio assigned to bring before Parliament the tax reform program of the Government, he had been chairman of the Commons Finance Committee.
