Israeli Jets Hit Egyptian Military Positions at Suez Canal; All Return Safely

Israel Air Force jets attacked military positions on the Egyptian side of the Suez Canal today and returned safely to their bases. A military spokesman said the targets were located in the southern sector of the waterway.

An Arab boy was killed and another was seriously wounded today when a grenade exploded at the Bank Leumi branch office in Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip. Authorities were investigating the incident. A curfew was imposed today until further notice on the villages of Djabaliya and Beth Hanoun in the Gaza Strip following an attack on an Israeli vehicle in which three Israelis were injured. An Israeli tractor driver suffered slight bruises today when his tractor struck a mine near Metullah close to the Lebanese border. The tractor was damaged. Another mine was found nearby and dismantled.

An Israeli soldier was killed last night when Jordanians fired at an Israeli position at Ras El Yahoud in the Jordan Valley south of Jericho. The victim was identified as 20-year-old Corp. Israel Schuchman of Petach Tikvah.
