Funeral services were held here today for Rabbi Tobias Geffen, believed to have been the oldest Orthodox rabbi in the United States. He died here yesterday at the age of 99. Rabbi Geffen was a founder of the Shearith Israel Congregation here, which he had served as spiritual leader for more than 60 years. He had continued as rabbi and as teacher of a class at the synagogue until recently when he became ill. He was founder of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada.
