Investigation Begun in Case of Former Official Accused of Aiding in Murder of Jews

The Lubeck Law Court has begun preliminary investigations in the case of Franz Adolf Asch, 65, former Foreign Minister for Social Affairs of Schleswig-Holstein, accused of participation in the murder of 1148 Jews in Galicia during the war. In Kiel, Israeli and American witnesses have testified at the trial of former SS officer Franz Josef Mueller, accused of abetting the murder of 6,000 Jews in Poland’s Bothnia Ghetto. Another defendant in Kiel, Wilhelm Kinder, charged with participation in the killing of more than 40,000 persons, has died of an incurable disease.
