The student body of Villanova University, a Catholic university conducted by the Augustinian Fathers, elected its first Jewish president during campus-wide balloting several days ago. Dr. James F. Duffy, vice-president for student affairs, announced, after the voting, that Neil A. Oxman, a junior, became a member of the newly formed University Senate as a result of his election as president of the student body. The office of president is the highest student position on the Villanova campus. Although the university is under the direction of the Roman Catholic Order it has over 500 students of other faiths of a total student population of 4,500.
