Israel Air Force jets continued their daily attacks on Egyptian targets in the Suez Canal zone today and returned safely to their bases. A military spokesman disclosed the rescue of an Israeli pilot who bailed out over Egyptian territory when his jet was shot down by a ground-to-air missile last Tuesday. His co-pilot and two pilots of another downed jet were captured by the Egyptians. The rescued pilot’s name was not disclosed. According to a military spokesman he hid out for several hours and was then “successfully extricated” and brought back to Israeli territory. Cairo identified two of the captured Israeli pilots as Capt. Amos Zamir and First Lt. Amos Levi. The Israel Army today released unusual aerial photographs of Egyptian military cemeteries in the Suez Canal zone indicating that Egypt has suffered severe casualties during the past year. The photographs showed 1800 graves this year where only 200 appeared the year before. Israel’s fatalities in the canal zone for the same period amounted to about 200. The photographs were made in May, 1969 and June, 1970, of cemeteries at Fayed, Ismailia and Port Suez.
