The Jordanian ambassador to the United Nations. Muhammed El Farra, met on Friday with Dr. Gunnar V. Jarring and United States Ambassador Charles W. Yost and reportedly told them that Israel’s charges of Soviet-Egyptian missile advances during the cease-fire were “sensationalism and fabrications in an attempt to mislead world public opinion and divert it from the Israeli defiances and acts of lawlessness.” Dr. El-Farra and Israel’s Ambassador Yosef Tekoah differed sharply on the standstill situation. In a heated exchange of views. Dr. El-Farra charged Israel with hindering peace and Ambassador Tekoah asserted “the central problem” was Egypt’s “grave violation” of the standstill agreement. A UN spokesman said on Friday that Dr. Jarring prefers negotiations at the Foreign Ministerial level rather than on the ambassadorial level favored by Egypt and Jordan.
