Mrs. Ivy Judah of London has donated $8.400.000 for a series of educational, medical and immigrant housing projects in Israel. Among the projects to be financed by Mrs. Judah’s donation is the School of Engineering at the University of the Negev in Beersheba. whose foundation stone will be laid tomorrow. Other projects include a housing estate for new immigrants in Jerusalem, and 50 children creches (kindergartens for toddlers) in development areas. The Orthodox Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem will receive a donation of more than $1.2 million. Mrs. Judah began her philanthropic work for Israel 12 years ago following her visit to this country. Prior to her trip she had no interest in Zionist affairs. Mr. Judah is publicity shy and for many years refused to permit projects built with her donations to be named after her.
