Lord Janner, the former Sir Barnett Janner, was invested today with the Order of Orange Nassau on behalf of Queen Juliana of the Netherlands. The brief ceremony at the Dutch Embassy was conducted by the Dutch ambassador, Dr. J.H. Roijen, who summarized Lord Janner’s career and emphasized his long efforts to foster good Dutch-English relations. Lord Janner, who has served as secretary, vice chairman and chairman of the Anglo-Dutch parliamentary group, noted in his reply Holland’s friendship for Israel since 1948 and for Jews since the Spanish Inquisition.
