The Rev. Roland De Corneille, a 43-year-old Anglican (Episcopalian) priest has been appointed to direct the Anti-Defamation League in the Canadian province of Ontario under its new name of B’nai B’rith League for Human Rights. Believed to be the first time a full-time ADL director of the Christian faith has been appointed, the announcement was made by Louis Ronson, chairman of the re-named League for Human Rights, who commented that the appointment was in keeping with the change in name and change in emphasis. “We know of no one who could better develop the program we have in mind” he said. Father De Corneille, born of Protestant parents in France, was educated in Switzerland, US and Canada. From 1962 he was in charge of the Christian-Jewish Dialogue for the Anglican Diocese of Toronto. He is author of “Christian and Jews: Dialogue” published in 1966. In Canada the B’nai B’rith are partners with Canadian Jewish Congress in the Joint Community Relations Committee. The B’nai B’rith activity is carried on in conformity with the policy of this joint committee.
