Eli Abigezer, a 22-year-old Black Panther, was fined $375 by a magistrate’s court today and given a four month suspended prison sentence for his part in an illegal demonstration last month in Jerusalem that ended in a riot. Abigezer was the first of the arrested Panthers to be sentenced. The trials of the chief Panther leaders have not concluded. The accused was charged with obstructing police and participating in a demonstration that violated the terms of a police permit issued to the Panthers for a public rally.
