Absorption Minister Natan Peled has approved the recommendations of an inter-ministerial committee to prevent profiteering and other abuses by new immigrants of the privileges granted them by the government. Jewish Agency Chairman Louis A. Pincus defended those privileges last night, which he emphasized were not favors, as incentive to attract more immigrants. He told the Jewish Agency Executive that he had no objection to a review of Treasury proposals to curtail certain immigrant benefits for economy reasons on condition that nothing is done which could reduce immigration.
